Small Haul: Wet Seal

I have been in such a shopping mode lately. It's been getting a lot warmer here in California, so it's about time to fully bring out my spring attire. I had no idea where my sandals are, so I planned on just buying some new ones. I looked on Wet Seal's online site and saw they were having a clearance sale so I decided to pick up a few things. Unfortunately, since these were clearance items, I'm not sure they will be restocked.

I apologize for everything being wrinkled. I haven't washed anything yet and they were wrinkled from the packaging.

True Love Tee - Size M
Retail Value: $12.99
After all discounts: $4.68

This is an adorable every day shirt. It's a bit shorter than I normally go for, but it's not a cropped shirt. The letters on the "True" and "Love" words have small black rhinestones to make them shine in the light. I'm actually glad it turned out to be a light pink, as I don't have many pink shirts, surprisingly! The sleeves are large, so they have a slight batwing effect. And the neckline is wide so it will be worn off the shoulder. I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of these with just plain shorts. I have a pair of blue denim shorts with floral pattern on them that I can't wait to wear with this shirt!

Floral Lace Inset Tee - Size L
Retail Value: $18.50
After all discounts: $10.00

I'm not quite a fan of 1/2 sleeve tops, but I couldn't turn down my two favorite trends in one - floral and lace. I got this shirt in a size large as I felt it would look better baggy with a bandeau underneath. I wish it was white, but it is an off-white, eggshell color - but I'll wear it nonetheless.

Crochet High-low Maxi Skirt - Size L
Retail Value: $15.99
After all discounts: $5.76

It's an all lace skirt. Do I love it? YES. Is it worth the price I paid? ABSOLUTELY! Am I disappointed. Kind of.

When I made the order, I waited about 3 days for confirmation that they were processing my order. Once they had shipped my order, they told me that the skirt was out of stock in the size I wanted (medium).  I was so disappointed since the clearance price of this skirt was the whole reason I decided to shop at Wet Seal - and not get my sandals at some other online shop. For the "inconvenience" they gave me a free shipping code. I used that code to risk getting the same skirt, but in the large. It fit better than I was expecting. The elastic in the waist fits just how I would want it. It is a bit flowy because it's a large, but I'm not as disappointed as I thought I would be. I still love it, and will get a lot of use out of it - and I can't beat the price anywhere. The pretty peach color is also a plus!

Patricia Faux Sandal - Size 8
Retail Value: $10.50
After all discounts: $7.08

This item was the reason I even made my order. I'm disappointed and will be returning these. I know I shouldn't buy shoes online, but I still do. I've never had a problem before, but this will make me hesitant to do so in the future. I am a 7.5 normally so I figured it would be safe to go up to an 8 instead of a 7. The strap that goes behind your foot onto your heel is HUGE. To make it fit I would have to make my own hole pretty far from the farthest hole currently on the strap. The deal breaker was when I stood up, my big toe hung over the side pretty far. I have average feet, but the sandals are narrow. I LOVE the color brown these are, so hopefully I can find the same color in another pair of sandals that will fit me.

The total I paid for this order was $28.81 including tax/shipping and I will be getting back $7 once I return the sandals. So $21.81 for the 3 items I am keeping is still a great deal.

I will be doing some OOTDs with these items soon. Also, I am trying to do a couple DIYs soon - including a  jewelry storage project and DIY studded shoes!

Little Black Bag Haul - Late March 2013

My first Little Black Bag box finally came a few days ago. I was over the moon that nothing came broken as some items have in other's boxes - everything was perfectly intact! However I am disappointed with the packaging. I'd been wanting to try Little Black Bag for months, and one of the things I loved about the company was they showed care when packaging items. I would watch hauls of people unwrapping their items all wrapped in tissue paper and sealed in stickers that would thank you for your purchase. They no longer do that. I open my box to find a few sheets of black tissue paper on top. Under that paper, all my jewerly pieces are loosely placed on top of my handbags. Many other customers have experienced breakage in jewelry because they sometimes end up at the bottom of the box. I sincerely hope they fix this issue, and go back to the way they previously cared for their customers items.

I was, however, one of the lucky ones to have nothing broken! This haul is two $49.95 bags combined - and it included A LOT of trading and a few weeks of gifting. I tried to get a lot of items I would love to wear this spring!

By Philippe - Crystal Butterfly Necklace
Retail Value: $55

The lovely Nery traded me for this necklace. I originally wasn't going to try to trade for it, but I am a sucker for rose gold. It is definitely a dainty necklace. The chain is so small that it is difficult to get on - but once it's on, it's so adorable.

All The Rage - Stone & Crystal Bow Necklace
Retail Value: $30

I absolutely love the colors on this necklace. It screams "spring" to me. The shape of the necklace isn't my favorite, but it does look very nice on. I was afraid the beads would come out of the sockets easily, but they don't seem to budge. I also do like the small crystal accents near the center of the necklace.

All The Rage - Stone Statement Necklace
Retail Value: $30

How pretty is this necklace?! I actually thought it would be bigger (and I do wish it was).  I wanted a huge mint statement necklace, and while it is a good size, it's a little smaller than I had pictured in my head. The crystals shine so much more than I thought they would. It is my favorite necklace that I got from this box! This is a great spring necklace.

Robert Rose - Stone Necklace in White
Retail Value: $25

This necklace is the perfect neutral, "goes with anything", kind of necklace. If I want to wear a colored necklace, this will be my go-to necklace to put on. The first stones are an off-white color, the next two are pure white, and the middle 3 stones opalescent - and change colors in the light. The stones on the necklace are so much more pretty thank I thought they would be and the necklace is a great length!

Robert Rose - Flower Cluster Earrings (cool mix)
Retail Value: $20

I was OBSESSED with these earrings when they came out. I traded a good amount for them, but then someone offered a crazy amount (around $90 worth of items) so I risked it and traded. I ended up getting them back later that day with a crazy offer ($55ish) so I was still up $40 from that trade. Anyone who knows me, knows these earrings were made for me. They are bigger than I thought they would be originally, but I love them all the same.

Robert Rose - Flower Cluster Earrings (warm mix)
Retail Value: $20

A little while after, they came out with the sisters of my other Robert Rose Flower earrings! Of course I felt I HAD to have those too. I considered trading them because I didn't think the colors would go well with my skin tone, but I decided to keep them. I am so glad I did because they are just as adorable!

BCBGeneration - True Love Bracelet
Retail Value: $25

I had my eye on these BCBGeneration bracelets but they were going ridiculously high. I was patient and eventually someone traded this one to me! It is big on my tiny wrists, so I am hoping I can modify it to fit better. I actually was expecting the little gem to be black, but it is a deep blue!

Deux Lux - Empire Strikes Back Wallet
Retail Value: $95

I  was honestly in complete, mouth wide open, speechless shock when I saw this wallet. I knew it would be big, but it is HUGE - and HEAVY! I really do like it, but I wish it was a bit smaller. The wallet is definitely quite the piece that I expect to get comments on when I pull it out of my purse. The teal color is beautiful, and I love the polka dot pattern inside. I had been using my old wallet for over 5 years, so it was definitely time to retire it for this bad boy.

Vieta - Jada Satchel
Retail Value: $110

I desperately needed a new black bag. My old one had ripped lining and I've honestly never had a good quality black bag. I've found it with this Jada! It is big, but not too big that I can't carry it daily. I do like that the handles are adjustable enough for it to be a shoulder bag - as that is the kind of bag I prefer. I am so pleased with this bag!

Nila Anthony - Lace Tote in Ivory
Retail Value: $76

LACE! I had seen this bag on older LBB hauls and adored it. Little did I know, they would be bringing it back! I LOVE it! It's the perfect size, perfect drop, perfect lace, perfect bag for me! Under the lace is a tan woven material that helps the lace detailing pop. I will definitely be carrying this bag a lot in spring!

Vieta - Pilar Satchel in Purple
Retail Value: $83

I didn't think I wanted this bag.. tried to convince myself I didn't want this bag. But the color screamed out my name. I do love the bag and the color. but it's not my ideal bag type. It's not a shoulder bag, which is the whole reason I almost traded it away. The strap is a belt-like strap with holes. Even on the shortest setting, the bag feels too long for me. I am debating if I want to put more holes in it to make the bag better for my height. Aside from the length issue, it is gorgeous and I am so glad I ended up getting it!

Betsey Johnson - Cat Eye Sunglasses with Bow Detail
Retail Value: $60

These Betsey Johnson sunnies actually didn't come in my box. When I first came on LBB, there was only one pair left and I knew I wouldn't be able to get them. A few weeks later, a fellow trader posted in a facebook group that she wanted to trade these for another pair of sunnies that had come on the site. I worked to trade for the ones she wanted, gifted them to her, and she sent these to me personally! I ADORE them. These sunglasses may be my favorite thing that resulted from my LBB trading experience. They are a little large, but they are so dang cute that I don't even care!

That is my first Little Black bag haul! I will be getting another box soon - likely the end of next week - and it will include a lot more items for my spring collection! :)
